  • Logo and Images

    Both the Corporate, Premium and Master Series support both logo and image upload.

    You can easily upload your company's logo (.JPG image format or a .SWF Flash movie file) and one .JPG format image or one Flash Movie (.swf) per page.

    Image Positioning

    You will be able to drag-and-drop each one of them to the right spot within the interface.

    This is an exclusive feature only found at FlashToGo.

  • What is a .JPG image?

    Simply put, .JPG is a file extension that describes a .jog format file.

    .JPG or .JPEG is a format best suited for web and for Flash. .GIF, .TIF, .BMP, are other popular formats.

    The FlashToGo system accepts ONLY plain.JPG format image files or .swf files (which are the native Flash movie format).

  • How many images can I add to my site?

    The FlashToGo System allows one upload per page, in addition to the logo itself.

    Corporate Series : logo + 9 .JPG images or Flash Movies;
    Premium Series : logo + 5 .JPG images or Flash Movies;
    Master Series : logo + 4 .JPG images or Flash Movies;
    Portfolio Series : up to 40 images + 3 random images + 1 image per page (total 5);

    Both the Enterprise and the Fit Series do also offer a Photo Gallery included. The Photo Gallery supports up to 12 images.

    The system accepts two kinds of files: .JPG and .SWF (Flash movies). You may either upload one .JPG image or one .swf movie per page. Please note that, a Flash movie (.swf file) may have more than one image embeded within it, or buttons, sub menus etcetera. Advanced users with some basic Flash skills appreciate this feature very much :-)

  • What is the ideal size?

    The images must not exceed 50kb each, so your final movie do not become too "heavy" to load. The dimensions (in pixels) may vary according to the site design... some designs have more room than others. In any case, a 100 pixels (wide or tall) should work fine on most sites.

  • Which format should I use?

    Only plain .JPG images are supported. Optionally, advanced users can upload a Flash movie (.swf), which is also supported.

    Progressive JPG, GIF, animated GIF's etcetera are NOT supported at this time.

    When editing your image in Photoshop, make sure the Progressive JPG Checkbox is NOT checked.

  • My images are not JPG. How to change their format?

    You must have some image editing software, such as Photoshop, Fireworks. Corel Photo Paint, Canvas, or many many others capable of editing a bitmap image. You might even find some freeware or shareware image editing software at Download.com.

    You should open your image within one of these softwares and simply save each one of them in plain .JPG format. Simple as that.

  • Can I upload a Flash Movie?

    Yes! This is one of the FlashToGo exclusive features.

    Instead of plain .jpg images, you will be able to upload Flash Movies (.swf) and even position them to the exact position within the interface.

    You may include extra buttons, sub-menus, animations etcetera.

    Please check this demo out: FlashToGo Demo

  • And if the file is larger than the maximum upload alowed?

    You will need to upload it separately to your web server (where your site/domain is hosted) using any third-party FTP shareware.

    In case you need help with FTP, please refer to the Top of the Page

  • Animated images

    If the animation is a Flash movie file (.swf) you can easily upload it as if it was a regular image.

    This topic is aimed at the more experienced user.

    So, if you are able to import your animation into Flash and export it as a Flash movie, you can use it. Check out this demo!.

  • Transparent background images

    See previous question.
    This topic is aimed at the more experienced user.

    Here is a how to:

    We assume that you have already created your image in Photoshop or so.
    The image shall have at least two layers: the top layer is the image "shape" and the bottom layer is the background;

    Before you use the Save For Web option, the background layer should be deleted so the top layer should "float" over the transparent background.

    Choose the Save for Web option;
    Choose the PNG 24 format;
    After you save the image, you should import it within Flash and export it as an .SWF file. The file is now ready to be uploaded to the FlashToGo System.

  • Deleting images

    Log on to the FlashToGo customization area, click on IMAGES (gray menu at the left), Select the checkboxes and delete the images. Attention, you will need to upload (publish) the files again to your web server so the changes would take effect.

  • I can't upload a .JPG image!

    First, make sure it IS a plain JPG image.

    Many people simply rename the suffix of a .gif, .bmp, .tif image as .JPG and assume it will work.

    Renaming the suffix is NOT enough. You must make sure the image is a .JPG.

    In addition, the image should not be a Progressive JPG, which is not suitable for Flash.

    Some JPG formats generated by Digital Cameras are NOT plain JPG but some special modified version from the vendor. So, open the images within Photoshop (for example), and save them again as plain JPG files.

  • Is there any limitation?

    The image size is restricted to 50 KB each, in order to prevent your site to get too "heavy". This limitation is only imposed to preserve the performance of your Flash site.

    In case you want to use a larger Flash Movie file, you may upload it separately to your server using some FTP shareware software.

    In regards to the Image Background, the maximum size is 60 KB.

    Only plain .JPG images and .SWF (Flash Movies) files are allowed. No gif's, animated gif's, png's, tif's...

  • How to improve the quality of my images?

    First, make sure the original image has good quality.

    There are quite many people that upload amazingly low-quality images expecting that our System could improve their quality on-the-fly. :-) Sorry folks, we can't do that. :-)

    So, drop the image to the browser's window and see if it looks fine. Our System provides a compression rate of 80% of the original size, so the image quality is pretty much unaltered (most softwares set a compression rate of 50% by default).

    Also, there are some softwares that produces very poor JPG images. We recommend Adobe Photoshop. Try the Save for Web option. You will be impressed with the results.

    In addition, when customizing your site at FlashToGo, avoid scaling your movie to adjust to the browser window. Images look terrible when scaled.

    The FlashToGo default value is 800 X 550 (pixels), whih is the original size of the main Flash movie. Non-scalable.

  • Can I include an image within the text area?

    No. Very unfortunately, Flash 5 does NOT support images, tables or JavaScript coding to be inserted within the text area itself. This is a Flash restriction and not particularly related to our system.

    Simply put it means you can not include images, tables atcetera within the text boxes/area. Only plain character attributes and links described at the HTML SINTAX section.
