  • Online Selling: E-Commerce, Shopping Carts, Order Forms...

    Selling Online frequently requires a Merchant Account so your company will be able to collect Credit Card payments.

    Processing checks online, as credit cards, require a processor, such as 2CheckOut, Authozine.net, PayPal, IBill, etcetera (which process both cards and checks).

    Any of FlashToGo sites can be easily integrated to Paypal, IBill, ClickBank or any other processor you might choose.

    Most Merchant Account Providers (payment processors) do provide a Shopping Cart Solution or, at least, an online form bundled with their services.

    Such online forms or Shopping Carts can be seamlessly integrate (linked directly from the FlashToGo sites), by simply typing its associated page URL to one of the many link buttons available at your site.

  • How to sell over the net? Shopping Cart, etcetera...

    An Online Sales System (E-store/Shopping cart) is not part of the FlashToGo services. The info below is provided as a starting point for those that want to start selling on the internet.

    First thing to do is to get a Merchant Account. We suggest you to browse around, since there are plenty of options and process charges may vary.

    Most of these companies that provide a Merchant Account do also offer some kind of shopping cart, usually as part of their services.

    Once the shopping cart interface is settled, the only thing you need to do is to input a URL link to one of the external links at your FlashToGo site, so visitors can be re-directed to the shopping cart interface. The URL will be provided by the company responsible for the Merchant Account service.

    A few options available:

    itransact.com (Free Shopping Cart included)
    WorldPay.com (businesses outside the US accepted)
    SwissOffshoreBanking.com (businesses outside the US accepted)

    Since getting a Merchant Account is sometimes complicated, there are a couple of solution providers that do also offer Processing on behalf of your company, which is great for companies that do not have a Merchant Account or that are not eligible to get one.

  • Adding a Stat/Counter to the site?

    First of all you should either get a CGI software to be installed at your server (where your site/domain is hosted) OR, to subscribe to one of the several sites that provide Counters and Stats. Some of them are free.

    We would recommend you to check StatCounter.com

    They provide a comprehensive set of stats for your site and, best of all, it is free.

    After you create your account at one of these Stat providers, you will get a piece of code that should be inserted at the main page of your site.

    You must open the index.html file using a text editor (such as Notepad). The page code is commented so it should be easy for you to see where exactly to place the code you have received from the Stat/Counter provider.

    Save the page and transfer to your web server SEPARATELY, using any third-party FTP shareware.

    Attention!

    It is important to remember that you must have a backup of the edited page, because whenever you edit your site at FlashToGo and transfer the files to your server, this page will be overwritten by the default index.html page file sent by the FlashToGo system.

    A possible workaround is, when you transfer the edited index page to your webserver, that you remove the write permissions to that file (your FTP software can do that) so when you transfer the files form the FlashToGo to your webserver, this page will not be overwritten anymore.

    If you find it too complicated, you can request such services to our tech team. There will be a one-time setup fee of US$ 75.00. Our Tech Team will create an account for you at Stat Counter, include the code at the index.html page, upload it to your server and remove the written permissions to that file.

    Inside Pages

    All the internal directories/pages of the main site, (not the additional pages that you link from the Links buttons) are WITHIN a single Flash movie. It means you can not track those pages individually. You can only track the main index.html page that embeds tha main movie with all the main pages within it.

    So, it is only needed that you insert your conter/stats code to the main index.html page or, eventually, to the extra pages that you link from your site.

  • Including a Form or Contact Form

    A Contact Form requires some server-based software (cgi) to process the data and send it to some Email box for example. Such software must be installed at your web server.

  • Animated Talking Characters

    The Animated Characters found at the FlashToGo website are provided by Oddcast/Sitepal (Banner below).

    In case you are interested on adding such characters to your site, please refer to the Oddcast/Sitepal web site.

    Currently, we DO NOT provide technical support with regards to such characters and those are NOT included with our services/products.

    You may eventually request our tech team to include those characters for you at your FlashToGo site. This service is available for the FIT, ENTERPRISE, BAND and PORTFOLIO SERIES only!

    The Corporate, Premium and Master Series are NOT compatible to Sitepal characters by Oddcast.

    It is IMPORTANT to note that NOT ALL the accounts offered by Oddcast can be embeded directly into Flash movies, so, you should consult with their Support Team and inquire which account can be embeded within a Flash Movie.

    As far as we know, only the Gold Accounts (499.00) can.

    In case you want to request our Tech Team to include such characters for you the following costs will apply:

    First Animated Character: US$ 250.00
    Additional Animated Characters: US$ 125.00 each

    Attention:

    You must customize and create the character yourself using the Oddcast interface. We can NOT do that for you.

    After your character is created, you can contact our Support Team and request this service.

    Flash savvy users

    Flash savvy users, may be able to include the characters on their own but, again, we WILL NOT provide technical support for that.

    That said, basically, you will need to create a Flash movie, include the code of the Sitepal Character. export your swf movie, and upload it as if it was a plain image (from the FlashToGo editing area).

    The problem you may face it is that positioning the character on the screen might be tricky. In addition, the Sitepal character is provided at a fixed 400 pixels wide size, so, you will probably need to include it within a movie clip and scale it down. Adding a mask on a top layer is probably a good idea as well.

    As you can see, it might be a better idea to request such services to our Tech Team :-)
